Within 48 hours of your snagging being carried out you will receive via email a PDF report outlining what issues we have found, in most cases with an accompanying picture of the snag and a brief description of what we believe the snag issue is.
For an example of a report please click here
In the report we cover a visual inspection of internal and external works carried out in your new home or flat typically looking at:
- Ceilings, walls and any wall tiling
- Kitchen and bathroom fittings
- Pipes, radiators and fireplaces
- Doors and frames
- Loft area
- General woodwork such as skirting boards and architraves
- External pipes and outside drainage
- External paintwork
- Walls, fences and gates
- Drives and pathways
noun: snagging – The process of checking a new building for minor faults that need to be rectified.
Ideally your new home should be 100% snag free when you move in, but it is very rarely the case. We can provide the experience that you need to go back to your developer with our snagging report to try and make sure you home is 100% snag free
Why Do I Need A Snagging Report For My New Home?
Unfortunately not all developers are as driven by customer satisfaction as they would have you believe, and sometimes the site team they have in place simply don’t understand or have the time to make sure that the finish is up to acceptable standards.
Headlines in national newspapers like these are common place:
“Black mouldstains, builders’ mugs left behind and leaks EVERYWHERE as buyers of new build homes reveal their property horrors”
“Family’s dream home becomes nightmare ‘house of horrors’ with ‘cracked walls, sinking stairs and water-logged garden”
“Dream homes turn into nightmares”
“Our new-build home dream fell through the cracks”
